We’ve made the front page of ProMobile, not for the first time either 🙂 #hoerboardIssue 105 of Pro Mobile magazine (January/February 2021) is out now!
The cover image is courtesy of DJ Ashley Riggs, whose rig is also featured in this issue's Gear Junkies section. Meanwhile, the Profile tells the story of Bruce Burry from Apollo Events. Bruce was inspired to become a mobile DJ whilst working as an engineer at Citronic and has gone on to build a successful events company in his home town of Melksham.
This issue marks Peter Holding's first as new Editor, though he is not the only person starting a new role at Pro Mobile. Sub-Editor, Greg Cartwright features in dialogue with Peter and talks about his passion for music, his love of a guitar, his adventures abroad and his journey to his new role. Elsewhere, there's a mixture of articles addressing the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as plenty of much-needed practical advice and thought-provoking articles on a range of topics.
New contributor Jack Quenby has penned his first article for Pro Mobile, detailing his journey from single, to multi-op. In his article '2021 Time for Reset?’, Pat Mulligan looks at ways to move forward in this new year and asks whether it’s time to kill a certain word. Meanwhile, Richard Lee shares his favourite years of all time, with a look back to his stand-out memories and also the most popular music during the mid-’80s. Tony Winyard has written a thought-provoking article describing tools which can be used to help build a less fragile mindset in challenging times! Greg Cartwright has produced a handy guide to the most current digital media content resources and also marks what would have been John Lennon’s 80th birthday, with an article revealing little known facts about the man behind so many of the world’s most loved songs. Andy Stapleton asks “What would you do if you couldn’t work” - is now the time to start planning for future bumps in the road? Alan Marshall talks about using today's music sources and compilation methods to build “The Modern Mixtape”. This issue's DJ Playlist in association with Mastermix, features classical music. And Pro Mobile’s resident accountant, Anna Goodwin asks if you need more money.
The magazine also includes detailed reviews of the Pioneer DJ DDJ FLX-6, HH Electronics TRS-1500 & TRS-1800, CHAUVET DJ's Wash FX HEX, Kam's i-Link 500RGB, Bose's L1 PRO8 and Powerwerks PWPRO15.
