Wedding DJ at Farbridge Barns West Sussex

Farbridge Barns is a beautiful countryside wedding venue near Chichester in West Sussex. The restored barns, open courtyard and surrounding South Downs landscape create a relaxed atmosphere during the day which naturally turns into a lively evening celebration once the dancing begins.

Having DJ’d hundreds of weddings at Farbridge over the years, I’m very familiar with the layout and how the evening reception flows once the formal part of the day is over. With the right music and energy in the room, the dance floor quickly becomes the focal point of the evening.

The evening reception at Farbridge

Evening receptions at Farbridge tend to have a fantastic atmosphere once the dancing begins. Guests move naturally between the main barn, the courtyard and the surrounding outdoor areas, which creates a relaxed and sociable feel throughout the evening.

The barns work beautifully for an evening celebration. With the right mix of classic favourites, sing-along tracks and modern hits, the dance floor tends to stay full from the first dance through to the final song.

The courtyard is particularly popular during the evening, and many guests also enjoy stepping out onto the grassed areas to take in the views across the South Downs while the celebration continues inside.

DJ setup at Farbridge

The best DJ setup position at Farbridge is at the far end of the side barn in the area used for ceremonies, facing towards the main barn space. This layout works well because it keeps the DJ connected to the dance floor while allowing guests to move easily between the bar, seating areas and the courtyard.

From this position the sound fills the barn nicely and the lighting helps transform the space once the evening reception begins.

Sound and lighting

Farbridge provides its own uplighting in the main barn and around the courtyard, which helps create a lovely atmosphere once evening arrives.

The venue also has its own PA system for ceremony music, background music and microphones for speeches earlier in the day. Because of this, couples often book me specifically for the evening reception, although I have occasionally provided music throughout the entire day when requested.

There isn’t a fixed sound limiter at Farbridge, but music levels are always kept at a sensible level that allows a great party atmosphere while still respecting the peaceful countryside surroundings.

Additional lighting effects can further enhance the dance floor area, and I have occasionally provided one of our large illuminated LOVE signs at Farbridge for couples who want to add an extra feature to the evening reception.
